Many experiences shape and underpin my creative practice: working with clay and fabric, the opportunity to develop drawing skills, being open to multiple influences including childhood experiences. This nexus has brought new challenges. Environmental sustainability and questions about the positioning of women continue to inform my practice. However, COVID, death and destruction in the current wars and the technological revolution of AI have emphasized how vulnerable we are as humans. This sense of vulnerability currently influences my work.
