Musca domestica 1 & 2
How does one represent the history of a location? When researching Musca St Reserve, I discovered the reserve was once a tip. Swarms of house flies were noted by John Weiner who saw a certain irony in the road to the tip being called Musca Street because the name of the common house fly is Musca domestica. A multilayered print, including the fly, was a way to represent this aspect of the reserve’s history.
